The Basic Idea

You register for your race, and you commit to seeking donations for The Cancer Foundation. They will set you up with a personal fundraising portal, give you social-media assets to use, and give you other helpful information. You ask your friends, family, co-workers, or others to donate to The Cancer Foundation using your portal. When your donations add up to the required minimum, The Cancer Foundation will reimburse your race registration fee!

In addition to reimbursing your registration fee, The Cancer Foundation will give you a special shirt, a water bottle, and some other fun goodies. But the biggest benefit to you will be on the inside, we guarantee it. Cancer Foundation Charity Runners might be the most joyful, most peaceful, most purposeful, and most confident racers on the course! You might be raising funds for The Cancer Foundation in honor of someone, in memory of someone, for your own other personal reasons, or because it’s a new challenge for you. About The Cancer Foundation 

The Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in northeast Georgia that provides financial and nutritional assistance for basic life needs such as housing, utilities, transportation, and food to cancer patients living in a 25-county service area. Created in 2005 in Athens, their goal is to help alleviate the financial hardship associated with a cancer diagnosis for all northeast Georgia residents. And you can trust that donations are put to good use: The Cancer Foundation makes payments directly to the creditor owed for the patient’s immediate needs, such as rent, mortgage, power bills, medication copays, fuel, and more.
